Foundation FAQs


Tasters are voluntary placements in specialties that the trainee would otherwise not be able to experience during their Foundation Programme. This must be taken as Study Leave in F2, and in F1 negotiated with the Foundation Training Programme Director.

If trainees wish to organise a taster they should talk to their Educational Supervisor in the first instance. Guidance and application forms can be downloaded below.

Tasters should be agreed locally, and the application form forwarded to NETFS. A post-placement form must also be completed, and once signed off locally, forwarded to NETFS.
