Welcome to our Foundation Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. It is designed as your one-stop-shop to find answers to common questions and querys about the Foundation Programme at NETFS. Please use the menu on the left.
There are some technical terms used by Foundation Schools and FPAS that it may be helpful for you to clarify:
- Foundation Programme - An educational training term - it indicates your 2 year course comprising of F1 and F2 years
- Rotation - An educational training term - A single year employed with a hospital trust. Your Foundation Programme is made up of an F1 rotation and an F2 rotation.
- Placement - An educational training term - Each Rotation is made up of three 4month-long placements, in different specialties through which a trainee rotates.
- Post - An employment term - This is a year long job at a hospital, in a particular specialty and department, answering to a named consultant. Three different doctors will rotate through this one job over the course of a year.
